General Information
Badges We ask that you wear your badge at all times during conference events so that you can have easy access to all events. Room monitors have been instructed to review your badge before allowing entry in a workshop or institute. An appropriate badge is required for admittance to all parties and receptions.
Help Desk
The Help Desk is located near registration. USPRA staff and Idaho volunteers will be available to answer your questions and/or assist you with emergency needs that may arise. If a crisis arises and medical help is needed, the staff at the help desk can page the nurse. Of course, serious and life threatening conditions warrant a 911 call prior to contacting the help desk.
Help desk hours are:
Monday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Tuesday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wednesday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Thursday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
If an emergency arises at a time when the help desk is not open, the nurse can be paged at the hotel registration desk.
Bookstore
Be sure to visit the bookstore located within the Exhibit Hall. The bookstore will carry books authored by conference presenters, as well as other publications of interest to persons working in psychiatric rehabilitation. While the majority of titles in the USPRA Bookstore will be recent publications in psychiatric rehabilitation, you will also find light reading for 'down time' or your trip home.
Volunteers
Volunteers will be located throughout the conference area. They will be wearing t-shirts with this year’s logo on them. Additionally they will have a “host” ribbon on their badges. They are here to assist conference participants, so please feel free to come up and introduce yourself; they will help you. Don’t be shy!
Support Services
The Virginia Chapter has arranged for support/crisis services during the conference for anyone who may be in need of these services. You may access this service through the Volunteer Room or Help Desk. When these areas are closed, the hotel's front desk will have a number to call to reach assistance.
Multicultural Display
Make sure to visit the display sponsored by the Multicultural Committee on Monday evening located just outside the exhibit hall. We have lots of take-home resources available on topics including assessing your agency’s cultural climate, increasing the cultural competence of staff, as well as serving the needs of people in recovery from a variety of backgrounds, including gender, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion/spirituality, age, etc. In addition, members of the committee will be available to talk about the activities of the committee and discuss needs of organizations in this area. Hope to see you there!
