The Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner credential (CPRP) is a test-based certification thatfosters the growth of a qualified, ethical, and culturally diverse psychiatric rehabilitation workforce through enforcement of a practitioner code of ethics. Currently there are CPRPs with PhDs to GEDs, occupational therapists to peer specialists, social workers to case workers- they all share a commitment to the fundamental principle that recovery from serious mental illness is possible.

CPRP Program Mission
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Certification Program fosters the growth of a qualified, ethical, and culturally diverse psychiatric rehabilitation workforce through a test-based certification program and enforcement of a practitioner code of ethics 

State Recognition of the CPRP
The CPRP credential is recognized in twelve states in the US by regulations defining and/or qualifying mental health practitioners: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Governance
The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Certification Program is directed by the Certification Commission, chartered in 2001 by the IAPSRS (now USPRA) Board  of Directors. The Commission is administratively and fiscally independent of USPRA. The Certification Commission
